Takeaway:
Whether a free man or in prison, Paul’s purpose on this earth was to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He accomplished this by planting new churches, encouraging existing churches and leaders, and reminding them of God’s Plan of Redemption that was set in place before the foundation of the earth.
Study/Discussion Questions:
- What is the underlying theme of all of Paul’s letters?
- Why is it important for the Bible to contain Paul’s letters? What are some specific life lessons that resonate with you from each of his letters?
- What is the significance to us of Paul writing letters from prison? What can we learn from his work for the Lord in the midst of his circumstances?
- How do Paul’s Pastoral letters help us today? Are they helpful only to church leaders, or to all Christ-followers? Why?
