1. In the 10/26/22 entry, No Offense, Garden Music’s Sammy Denton says that ultimately, we live more freely, fully, and fruitfully when we check our pride at the door and take on the gracious heart of God. Take a look at her list of the Unoffended Heart - what do these look like in you? What is one thing that you will purpose to do (or not do) for each one.
2. In the 10/28/22 entry, Simple Prayer, Garden Music’s Ethan Rounds reminds us that the only way to get prayer wrong is by trying to get it right! Philippians 4:5-7 reminds us that it is actually very simple! How real have your conversations with God been - are you holding something back? Try asking God a wild question this week. Try letting Him know of your anger and frustrations. Talk to Him as a close friend and make note of how your trust grows.

Sermon Questions

Scriptures:  1 Corinthians 6:12-14, 15-16, 18

1. What does sexual wholeness mean to you from a Christian perspective? What does it mean that God calls the church to more rather than less on this subject?
2. Pastor Jared shared that we often joke about our other sins, but not about our sexual sins. Why? How are they different?
3. Have you been taught that sexual sin is the one sin that God gets the maddest at? How does Romans 8:1 demonstrate a Father’s love that motivates you to live differently?
4. Pastor Jared said that each of God’s inventions have context for how it is to be experienced best. Discuss what he said about fire and water (controlled vs uncontrolled). 1 Corinthians 6:18 says that sexual sin is a sin against our own bodies. What does it do to us? So why does the Apostle Paul tell us to flee sexual temptation as a protection?
5. Read 1 Corinthians 6:15-16. The Apostle Paul teaches that sex was not just an activity, but something with another dimension to it: spiritual. Describe that dimension in light of the resurrection. What does it mean to you that God wants to take up residence in you?
6. Read 1 Corinthians 6:12-14. The Apostle Paul tells us that a Go First leader flees from the temptation of sexual sin. Think about some of the lines where you are flirting on the edge of disaster. Pastor Jared said not to conceal, but to confess - bring it out into the light. What does this practice do?

Here’s an opportunity to be Jesus' love in action by supporting a refugee mama in need!!!
This mom has recently arrived in the US and is inevitably experiencing food, work, & housing challenges. While she has a current place to stay, she could use ALL the support she can get so that she and her 7 year old son are able to navigate their new lives.

Pray over Serve Day 2022! Pray that the recipients of all of our efforts this Saturday (and Friday and Monday!) will begin to know the unconditional love of God - through us! Lift up the interactions between park go-ers and good neighbors, as we all ask the question: Why do we do this? And pray for the safety of our teams as they navigate the “wilds” of Kit Carson Park, handle tools and ladders, stay hydrated, etc.

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.”
