Sermon Notes

When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua, “Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan.
- Joshua 4:1-2

He said to the Israelites, “In the future when your descendants ask their parents, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’ For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The Lord your God did to the Jordan what he had done to the Red Sea.
- Joshua 4:21-23

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” They came out of the town and made their way toward him.

  1. In the 2/6/23 entry, God Is Good, Pastor Harry reminds us that the first thing the Bible tells us is: God is good. Do you agree or disagree, or do you waver between the two? Are you like Moses in Exodus 33:19, wanting to see God as He really is? And then God showed you something wonderful? What was it? Write these things down in your Bible or journal and visit them often! How can you use one of these revealings to encourage someone else?
  2. In the 2/10/23 entry, ¿Tu Comprendes? Terima kasih!, Kyle states: God is incomprehensible in His entirety. Do you give up trying to understand Him - why? Kyle says just because we won’t ever be able to fully understand all of His ways, it doesn’t mean they aren’t absolutely amazing. This week, go through some of the verses she provided with amazing truths about God. Add some of your own. What are some benefits of these verses that teach you to trust God even if you don’t understand Him? Work out a prayer of adoration and gratitude - how does this begin to change you?

Pray

Happy Valentine’s Day! Spend time in prayer this week exploring how God loves you - do you know this is true? Are you embracing His love? Are you loving Him back? What is His love doing in, for, and through you? What does He want the world to see about His love with you as His ambassador? Speak to God and ask Him to reveal something truly amazing about His love for mankind - and you!

“I [God] love those who love me; those who seek me will find me.”
