Takeaway:
The early church, just like today’s church, faced challenges, trials, persecution and false teachings.
Peter, John and Jude offer encouragement and exhortation to stay true to God’s Word and to our faith, to remember who we are in Christ, to love others, and to obey God’s commands, living a life that is a positive testimony to both believers and unbelievers.
Study/Discussion Questions:
1. What are the underlying themes of each of these letters?
2. What are some examples of false teachings today that can lead the church astray?
3. Why is being grounded in God’s Word so important, both for the early church and for Christians today? What does being grounded in God’s Word look like for you?
4. John gave us three “Tests of Life” in Christ. What are they and how are they a measuring tool of us having “life” in Jesus?
