Prautes
"See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey."
- Jesus, Matthew 21:5
"Religion is for people who are afraid of going to hell; Jesus is for people who have been there."

Consider...Jesus enters Jerusalem...the King of all kings appears at the gates of Zion -- the most powerful figure Jerusalem has ever known -- and the Thunderclap entrance He chooses is...Gentleness. He could have shown up with the Armies of Heaven's Angels! Instead....he shows up on a donkey. GENTLENESS.
Just after His entrance...He overturns tables of money and throws out the cheaters in His Temple...Gentle?
Then He casts out demons and heals all who come to Him...Gentle?
Then He quietly walks through a hostile crowd of Religious leaders who want to kill Him...Gentle?
Then He cusses out a Fig Tree...Gentle?
Strong's Greek Concordance says that the Greek word for "Gentleness" is "Prautes" which means "exercising God's strength under His control...demonstrating great power without harshness."
It's a busy dad taking time to listen to a child.
It's a mom who resists the temptation to compare and chooses to compliment.
It's a friend who lets go of resentment and offers forgiveness.
It's a neighbor who breaks down a wall by agreeing to disagree.
It's a co-worker who rejects jealousy and decides to celebrate another's promotion.
Gentleness may just be the single characteristic that best allows Jesus to see Himself in you and me.
Sooooo....If you want Jesus to pick You out of a Crowd.....we best nourish the Seed God's Spirit has planted in you and me. How? Identify one harsh tendency and "fast" on it. For instance:
Harsh in your language?....do a "sarcasm" fast for a day!
Harsh in your judgement of people?....do a "zero judgement" fast.
Harsh in patience with people?....do an "impatience" fast for a day.
Harsh in your outlook on life?....do a "skepticism" fast for a day.
Harsh in your tenderness quotient?....do an "insincerity" fast.
You see...the Spirit is not only our Source of power but He's the Guide of our power as well.
