A Defiant Peace

I don’t know about you, but there was a part of me that entered 2021 with an understanding that, while it seemingly had to be better than 2020, there was a measure of uncertainty. Would it actually be better? Will it be the same? Or could it possibly get even worse?

And while I don’t know how 2021 will play out, I do know that I am not a victim of its circumstances, for I choose not to live with a Fixed Mindset (one that is stuck in quiet despair, a soul crushed by attrition), but with a Growth Mindset (a defiant peace), ready to face whatever challenges lie before me because of who Christ is in me.

Life has its ups and downs, its defeats and its victories.  But in Christ, we are assured that we are More Than Conquerors, and defeats will not defeat us.

May we enter this year with a defiant peace, knowing that our circumstances are not fixed, and embrace this year as an opportunity to grow in Christ and allow His strength and His power to manifest itself in and through us.

May we begin to think, every day, “I can handle whatever life brings me, I am equal to anything, because of Him who gives me hope and peace.”
