One Small Lever
Every time you think you’re being rejected, God’s actually redirecting you to something better. Ask Him to give you the strength to press forward.

“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”
- The Apostle Paul, Romans 8:5
Have you ever changed a tire on a car? Cars today come with these tiny little jacks that seem hopelessly incapable of lifting a 4000 pound automobile. And, once you get the jack under the car, there is literally no way to apply enough pressure to the jack to do the lifting…that is, until you take the tire iron and insert it, which then gives you the needed leverage to get the job done. One small lever makes a world of difference.
As Pastor Jared explained this past Sunday, God being with me is the lever that creates the 1% change necessary to do the heavy lifting to produce a 99% increase in output. If our minds are set on our own selfish wants and desires, the leverage will never be there to change.
But when we live in accordance with the Spirit, the lever, God’s power, is what redirects us to something better. Then, the Glory of God is worked out in me and His eternal promises begin to come to life in my present reality.
When we are up against it (whatever “it” may be), remember that God is always near us, always for us, and always in us. If we will press on and allow His Spirit to work in us, He will always provide the leverage to redirect us to what is best for us.
He is simply that kind of God.
